McKinney finds the dynamics of human relationships fascinating. She contemplates the face as the conveyor and reflection of our deepest emotions. Her paintings, for the most part close-ups of women’s faces, portray the depth of emotions she has observed in her sitters. Each painting focuses on a person she has known for most of her life.
