Josh MacPhee is an artist, curator and activist currently living in Brooklyn, NY. His work often revolves around themes of radical politics, privatization and public space. Lately he has focused on creating a large series of silkscreen prints which draw, in both aesthetics and content, from 19th Century labor graphics, the history of street writing and art, and 1960s political posters. He is the author/editor of a number of books, his most recent is Reproduce & Revolt: A Graphic Toolbox for the 21st Century (Soft Skull Press, 2007, co-edited with Favianna Rodriguez). MacPhee also organizes the Celebrate People's History Poster Series and is part of the political art cooperative Justseeds.org.
