Catherine Brooks’ work for this show reflects her personal mythology, depicting her views on gender, loss and the cycles of life. Brooks typically blends poetic and mythic elements with insects, plants and other images from the natural world.  Her aesthetic combines meticulous technique with pop Surrealism .Brooks , a Richmond native , has a BFA from the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in Brooklyn, NY.  Her work appears regularly in Thinkspace, POP, The Hive, The Proposition Galleries and has been sold at Scope London, Miami, New York and Basel.     Tifenn Python was born in Haute-Savoie, France but grew up in Tahiti and Moorea.  Water and fish appear in many of her paintings, imagery that must be drawn from that formative period of her life. Children depicted in a tender and non-sentimental way are also a recurring subject.     Python’s degree in Fine Arts /Illustration is from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada.  Her paintings have been shown in Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Soho (Opera Gallery) and other venues in NewYork City. Python also does illustration work for a wide range of clients including *The New York Times*, *The Washington Post*, *The Los Angeles Times*, *Harper's*, *Nylon*, , *The Utne Reader*, *Playboy* and  *Elektra Records*. She now makes her home in Park Slope Brooklyn. Both artists are returning to Ghostprint Gallery for the second time.
